In The Beginning God
The Genesis account of creation has always contradicted the contemporary views of science. The views of science in Egypt in the days of Moses held that creation was an accident that resulted from a cosmic struggle between the gods. Some things never seem to change. Back then, the “Big Bang” was a “clash of the gods.” Now, today, we are told the “Big Bang” is a clash of…well, “something” though scientists just don’t know what! They just know it wasn’t God! But even those scientists of Moses’ day had a better understanding than some modern scientist do. They understood that stuff doesn’t just happen; even accidents are caused! At least those scientists had enough sense to understand that the order of the universe demanded “somebody” not “some things.” (Heb. 3: 4). They just had the wrong somebody! The idea of “creators” (gods), as they speculated, was at least thinking, they just didn’t believe in the one true God. But many scientists today have wished God out of the world entirely. There is more logic to the superstitions of those who bowed to idols than to those who fancy that man descended from apes.

For example, Richard Dawkins, well-known atheist apologist said: “Only ignoramuses and those who just fell off the turnip truck would dare question science…It is absolutely safe to say that, if you meet somebody who claims not to believe in evolution, that person is ignorant, stupid or insane (or wicked, but I’d rather not consider that). Evolution is a fact, beyond reasonable doubt, beyond serious doubt, beyond sane, informed, intelligent doubt, beyond doubt evolution is a fact…It is a plain truth that we are cousins of chimpanzees, somewhat more distant cousins of monkeys, more distant cousins still of aardvarks and manatees, yet more distant cousins of bananas and turnips…continue the list as long as desired.” Richard Dawkins, “The Greatest Show On Earth”: The Evidence For Evolution. Perhaps, like myself, you are wondering, who it is that fell off the turnip truck!

At the Judgment, the idolators of the past may stand and condemn our enlightened generation, that with all its telescopes and satellites and probes cannot see what it saw plainly, “In the beginning God.” (Gen. 1: 1). Think on these things.
